This character is part of 'Reef tales' a hypothetical stylized game. This was a collaborative process between myself and Guillaume who did an amazing job fleshing out the world of the game. Make sure to check out his vision of this world here:

When he was alive, the captain had the most skilled whale hunting crew in town. Admired by peers and hated by competitors, he was very sure of his abilities and had complete trust in his men. His immense wealth however came mostly from stealing the treasure and supplies from other whale hunters in the ocean. One fatal day they set to kill the biggest whale they had ever seen. His men were unsure, but he convinced them of their imminent success. As the whale swam past them the Captain saw its eyes flashing with green light and it seemed to him like it had more than one on each side. Heated as he was from the thrill of the chase, he hastily believed it was reflections from the water. The harpoon had pierced the whale and it was swimming with such strength that it was dragging the ship along with it. The whale flapped its tail smashing a huge hole in the hull. The captain jumped on its back and drove his harpoon through the beast’s head repeatedly. The whale started swimming below water dragging the captain with it. As it was getting darker the glow from the whale’s eyes was more apparent. The captain looked at its skin. There were little bumps everywhere. He let go of the harpoon to start swimming back up but just as he did, all the little bumps on the whale’s skin opened. Huge glowing green eyes were looking at him as his ship was coming down behind him. Their ship returned to the surface to keep sailing, damned to roam the seas in eternal servitude to the Old One. Thousands of souls were delivered to the depths because of the Captain and his pirate whale hunters.
